Career Highlights

Prior to joining Summit Zenith, Yuan Quan worked at a domestic "red circle" law firm for nearly 8 years. Yuan Quan's practice areas are mainly focused on cross-border commercial transactions and dispute resolution. Yuan's clients include domestic and foreign investment funds, Fortune 500 companies, other domestic and foreign financial institutions and large and medium-sized enterprises, including CICC Capital, DG Capital, Dao Foods Fund, International Finance Corporation (IFC), HSBC, Hang Seng Bank, Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), Bank of New York Mellon, ICBC Asia, CCB Asia, Deutsche Bank Trust, Bocom Trust, China Development Bank, Export-Import Bank of China, etc. In addition, Yuan Quan has extensive experience in representing independent e-commerce merchants in dealing with intellectual property disputes, especially those involving injunctions (Annex A cases).

  • Cross-Border E-Commerce – Overseas Rights Protection

    • Assisted cross-border e-commerce sellers in responding to dozens of Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) proceedings in U.S. courts.

    • Advised cross-border e-commerce sellers on appeals and dispute resolution involving the Amazon platform.

  • Outbound Investment, Cross-Border Financing, and Debt Restructuring

    • Advised the ad hoc creditors’ committee of Steinhoff Europe AG, a subsidiary of the Steinhoff Group, on the group's debt restructuring.

    • Provided legal services to several financial institutions in connection with the global debt restructuring of a multinational corporation.

    • Advised multiple financial institutions on the debt restructuring of a real estate company.

    • Advised a European bank on the debt restructuring of a Chinese debtor.

    • Represented a European bank in filing creditor claims in the bankruptcy reorganization proceedings of a Chinese debtor.

    • Represented a U.S. hedge fund in filing creditor claims in the bankruptcy reorganization proceedings of a Chinese debtor.

    • Advised The Bank of New York Mellon in multiple bankruptcy reorganization proceedings of Chinese companies involving U.S. dollar-denominated bonds.

    • Represented Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas, as trustee, in the bankruptcy proceedings of a Chinese debtor involving U.S. dollar-denominated bonds.

    • Advised the onshore branch of a multinational bank on filing creditor claims in the bankruptcy proceedings of a Chinese debtor.

    • Represented an offshore bond trustee in filing claims in the pre-reorganization internal debt recognition process of a Chinese debtor.

    • Advised an offshore bond trustee on multiple U.S. dollar-denominated bonds issued by various Chinese real estate companies.

    • Advised Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Head Office and the Export-Import Bank of China on financing for the Dhaka Elevated Expressway Project in Bangladesh.

    • Served as long-term legal counsel to a listed company for its overseas subsidiaries.
